This smooth, slightly creamy, and refreshing Soursop Margarita is a delicious tropical cocktail that will make you want more.
Soursop Margarita? I know it sounds different but I’m sure you will love it as much as I did. Growing up I had a soursop tree and the sweetsop tree in my back yard and occasionally this would be a refreshing Sunday drink of choice. I have to introduce you to sweetsop one of these days. They are both delicious.
What is Soursop?
What is Soursop you asked? Also known as Guanabana, custard apple, and paw paw. Soursop fruit can be described as a green full-bodied, long, curved shape prickly fruit which comes from the Graviola tree grown in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America region.
Texture and taste of Soursop
With major similarities to the custard apple. The texture of soursop is creamy, similar to that of yogurt. However, when juicing it can become loosened by adding water. The flavors are unique, some people say soursop is more of a tart citrus note similar to a combination of strawberries, green apples, and pineapple. I slightly disagree. I think it’s slightly tart, with a combination of green apples, lychee, and custard apple. That’s just my description. In this recipe, I used premade soursop juice.
